Synopsis

In this session, you will delve into the ambiguity surrounding the term ‘Design Manager’ and explore its various interpretations by different companies and project stakeholders. By gaining insights into the current state of the Design Manager role and its significance in modern project delivery practices, you will brainstorm how you can optimize the remit of your own Design Managers, distinguishing between other related roles, and begin to drive more consistency in approach industry-wide.

This workshop will be comprised of a 60-minute panel, followed by a 60-minute interactive session.

  • Discuss the purpose of the Design Manager role: What’s the challenge we are trying to solve and how can we align the ROI accordingly?
  • Explore different interpretations of the Design Manager role within various projects and types of stakeholders
  • Analyze emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the role of Design Managers
  • Define clear responsibilities for the Design Manager at every stage of the project lifecycle to avoid confusion and ensure seamless integration with other team members
